Leslie Jones’s Personal Web site Hacked Following a Summer of Online Harassment

The Star (St. Lucia) - - COMMENT -

Leslie Jones’s summer has proven to be an evereventful one. The actress and official Rio Olympics commentator previously called out her Twitter harassers— who were bandying about everything from racial slurs and GIFs to sexist and other hurtful comments. She took a twoday hiatus from Twitter before returning (naturally, so she could live-tweet Game of Thrones). Now, as if she hasn’t had enough to put up with in the treacherous online sphere, her Tumblr has been vandalized by a hacker, reports The Wrap.

The hacker—or possibly hackers—posted photos from Jones’s iCloud account, including nude pictures, as well as her personal information: her passport, driver’s license, and phone number were all released. The hacker went on to post a video of Harambe, the deceased gorilla that trolls used to taunt Jones on her Twitter account this July.

Although she has yet to comment on this particular instance, Jones has been outspoken against online harassment since the incident on Twitter in July. “I feel like I’m in personal hell. I didn’t do anything to deserve this,” she said then.

Jones, who just returned from Rio after befriending the entire Olympic team and superfanning all over Brazil, has retained a positive attitude across her online presence— she may even have exceeded the selfie and FaceTime quota in Olympic Village. But this latest hacking news is hardly something to laugh off.

The actress’s Web site was flooded with nude photos and Jones’s personal information.
