RBC sup­ports Stu­dents with Back to School Ini­tia­tive

RBC Royal Bank em­barked on a Back to School ini­tia­tive in an effort to help less for­tu­nate stu­dents. Through its Com­mu­nity Out­reach Pro­gramme, the bank sup­ported 185 stu­dents be­tween the ages of five and twelve at the Od­san Com­bined School by pro­vid­ing ba­sic school sup­plies.

San­dra Fon­tenelle, Coun­try Head for Saint Lu­cia de­scribed: “This Back to School ini­tia­tive is an ex­am­ple of RBC’s on­go­ing com­mit­ment at help­ing our clients thrive and com­mu­ni­ties pros­per.” She added: “It’s at the heart of all that we do. We be­lieve in build­ing pros­per­ity by car­ing for the com­mu­ni­ties in which we live and work”.

Fon­tenelle high­lighted the need to as­sist our chil­dren in at­tain­ing their ed­u­ca­tional goals: “We be­lieve that there is a grow­ing need and de­mand for as­sis­tance in the ed­u­ca­tional sec­tor and we want to be a part of it.”

“RBC con­tin­ues to sup­port the ed­u­ca­tional growth and de­vel­op­ment of our chil­dren by find­ing new and in­no­va­tive ac­tiv­i­ties,” said Myreen Cenac in the ca­pac­ity of Com­mu­nity Out­reach Champion. “Our last ed­u­ca­tional ini­tia­tive was a part­ner­ship with lo­cal au­thor Mrs. Nad­jhla Bailey where we pur­chased copies of her book ‘Telling Tales’ for distri­bu­tion to schools across the is­land.”

RBC Royal Bank, through its com­mu­nity out­reach pro­gramme, has em­barked on sev­eral ac­tiv­i­ties to help com­mu­ni­ties, in ar­eas where the bank op­er­ates, to pros­per.
