Starting this year, credit union professionals around the world will be able to connect with each other for free via their mobile devices. The World Council of Credit Unions (WOCCU) app will enable people to engage with thousands of their peers in different countries to share information, resources, best practices and news. The app, and the content within it, is driven by the people who use it. Credit union professionals can create a profile; as well as connect their Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn pages. They then earn points by sharing articles, pictures, and comments Additionally, they can follow their peers and send messages to each other directly through the through the WOCCU app. The Topics section features discussions regarding big questions facing the credit union movement such as payment technology, attracting youth and market disruptors. The topics will change as what matters most to the movement changes over time.
“We understand that people have limited time and money to attend conferences and dig through the Internet for information,” said Brian Branch, World Council president and CEO. “That is why we created the WOCCU app; to bring credit union professionals to a space where they can network and drive the conversations that need to happen to advance the movement”.
Using the WOCCU app is also fun as participants gain points for every article, picture, comment and question they ask. The top user of the app by December 31, 2016 will win a free conference registration to the World Credit Union Conference in Vienna, Austria.
The World Council of Credit Unions has been a global leader in credit union communication since its inception in 1971.
