Latin Amer­i­can & Car­ib­bean Fes­ti­val (LACFEST) 2016

The Cul­tural De­vel­op­ment Foun­da­tion, Her­itage and Cre­ative In­dus­tries, Min­istry of Tourism, in­clud­ing Saint Lu­cia Au­dio-vis­ual and Film As­so­ci­a­tion, col­lab­o­rat­ing with the Ar­gen­tine, Brazil­ian, Cuban, Mex­i­can and Venezue­lan Em­bassies, have all once again vouched for Saint Lu­cia to be the host of LACFEST 2016. The organizers are invit­ing the pub­lic to revel in the sec­ond year of the fes­ti­val, hosted at the Na­tional Cul­tural Cen­tre, Novem­ber 7 - 12.

Latin Amer­i­can Cin­ema, which is the main event; will show­case two ac­claimed movies from each coun­try. The films are in­tended for the gen­eral pub­lic, and are suit­able for all ages. Guests will also be en­ter­tained with au­dio-vi­su­als and short films pro­duced by Saint Lu­cians. The em­i­nent Saint Lu­cian film ‘Who Are You?’ by Ken­dal John will be fea­tured.

Fes­ti­val organizers hope to fos­ter a greater ap­pre­ci­a­tion for the di­ver­si­fi­ca­tion of Latin Amer­i­can and Car­ib­bean cin­e­matog­ra­phy, which has had a colos­sal im­pact around the globe .
