SLASPA Wel­comes New Port Po­lice Re­cruits

After months of op­er­at­ing un­der­staffed, the Port Po­lice De­part­ment has re­ceived some much-needed sup­port to their team. Earlier this week SLASPA held their Port Po­lice Re­cruit In­tro­duc­tory Pro­gramme at the Au­thor­ity’s Con­fer­ence Room to in­tro­duce new mem­bers to the de­part­ment.

The Chief of Port Po­lice, Mr. Kennedy Fran­cis, chaired the cer­e­mony. Mr. Keigan Cox, Gen­eral Man­ager of SLASPA ex­pressed the im­por­tance the new re­cruits’ task of main­tain­ing the safety and se­cu­rity of air and sea­port op­er­a­tions.

Cor­po­ral Philbert Col­ly­more then fol­lowed with a brief sum­mary of the Port Po­lice re­cruit­ment course, and al­lowed the par­tic­i­pants to in­tro­duce them­selves to the group. Deputy Chief of Port Po­lice, Mr. Michael Placide closed the cer­e­mony by an­nounc­ing the com­mence­ment of the Port Po­lice Re­cruit­ment Train­ing Pro­gramme.

Eigh­teen new re­cruits have been added to the Port Po­lice de­part­ment in an ef­fort to boost pro­duc­tiv­ity and ef­fi­ciency.
