Po­lice Press Depart­ment Re­leases Up­date on Lat­est Homi­cides

Apost mortem was con­ducted on the body of Yves Rene, a thirty-nine-year-old res­i­dent of Fond Mange, Marigot, who suc­cumbed to in­juries sus­tained dur­ing a shoot­ing in­ci­dent in­volv­ing the po­lice, on Sun­day, Jan­uary 8, 2017.

The post mortem ex­am­i­na­tion, con­ducted by Dr. Stephen King, re­vealed that Yves Rene died as a re­sult of brain and neck in­jury sec­ondary to shot gun in­jury.

A post mortem was also con­ducted upon the body of Dy­lan Joseph, a twenty-five-year-old res­i­dent of Grande Riviere, Gros Islet, who suc­cumbed to in­juries sus­tained dur­ing a stab­bing in­ci­dent at Grande Riviere, Gros Islet, on Sun­day, Jan­uary 8, 2017.

The post mortem ex­am­i­na­tion, con­ducted by Dr. Stephen King, re­vealed that Dy­lan Joseph died as a re­sult of car­diac tam­pon­ade sec­ondary to a stab wound to the chest.

Joseph was the sev­enth homi­cide for the year 2017.

In other news, in­ves­ti­ga­tions are un­der­way fol­low­ing the death of a man from Bois Patat, Morne Du Don. Po­lice re­ceived a re­port with ref­er­ence to a shoot­ing at Bois Patat at about 11:45 a.m. on Mon­day, Jan­uary 9, 2017. Twenty-seven-year-old Uri­aus An­thony was found be­neath a shed, with mul­ti­ple ap­par­ent gun­shot in­juries.

He was pro­nounced dead by a med­i­cal prac­ti­tioner on the scene.

Uri­aus’s death marked homi­cide num­ber eight for the year 2017.
