The LucianAid Foundation has announced its new collaboration with The Oliver Gobat Sports Fund (TOGS) as the title sponsor of the 2017 island-wide cricket competition. This year’s competition is being hosted in remembrance of Oliver Gobat, former Sales Director at The Landings and part of the family who created Cap Maison.

Oliver, a son of the soil, tragically passed away in 2014. Ollie was an avid sportsman and his love for sports showed in his passion and participation, not only in athletics and cricket but also squash. Ollie loved the country of his birth, Saint Lucia, and was keen on helping others as well.

Organisers hope that the tournament will not only bring the sport of cricket to the various communities but also keep Ollie’s name alive as his loved ones continue to seek justice for him. All interested local community clubs are invited to participate in this tournament, with several clubs having already registered. The Oliver Gobat Remembrance Cricket Tournament is set to commence this weekend with scheduled matches to be held in the communities of Mon Repos, Dennery and Babonneau.
