FUND RAISING ACTIVITY TO BENEFIT SLBWA
The Saint Lucia Blind Welfare Association (SLBWA), in collaboration with The Embassies of Mexico and Spain, will be hosting a fundraising afternoon of activities for children. The event, called “See Me Now”, will take place at the former Indies Night Club on Saturday 28th January, 2017 from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. According to organisers, the objective of the event is to get visually impaired children to interact with each other through fun games and other activities. Entrance fee is EC$5. All proceeds will go to the Saint Lucia Blind Welfare Association.
Event sponsors include Heineken, Caribbean Metals Ltd, Mabouya Valley Co-op Credit Union, Soufrière Development Foundation, Sandals Grande St. Lucian Spa & Beach Resort, Royal by Rex, Wailea Breeze Ltd, Courts Saint Lucia and Fletcher’s Touring Service.
For both Embassies, social action and the forging of partnerships with the organised civil society are an important part of their presence and their work to develop more integral diplomatic ties with Saint Lucia. The public is invited to support the activity.
