EX­EC­U­TIVE DI­REC­TOR

The Ex­ec­u­tive Di­rec­tor is the Chief Ex­ec­u­tive Of­fi­cer of the Com­mis­sion Sec­re­tar­iat. Re­spon­si­bil­i­ties in­clude the ef­fec­tive man­age­ment of the Com­mis­sion's oper­a­tions; and un­der the gen­eral di­rec­tion of the Com­mis­sion, the in­ves­ti­ga­tion and eval­u­a­tion of ev­i­dence of an­ti­com­pet­i­tive con­duct; ad­vis­ing the Com­mis­sion on the rel­e­vant ac­tion and re­lated pro­ce­dures for deal­ing with such con­duct; mon­i­tor­ing the de­vel­op­ment of com­pe­ti­tion and con­sumer wel­fare poli­cies within the Com­mu­nity. The Ex­ec­u­tive Di­rec­tor will also be re­spon­si­ble for the se­lec­tion and de­vel­op­ment of the pro­fes­sional staff and for di­rect­ing their work. In­ter­fac­ing with stake­hold­ers at all lev­els through­out the Caribbean Com­mu­nity will be an in­te­gral part of the Ex­ec­u­tive Di­rec­tor's func­tions. QUAL­I­FI­CA­TIONS AND EX­PE­RI­ENCE The Ex­ec­u­tive Di­rec­tor should have: (a) an ad­vanced de­gree from a rec­og­nized univer­sity, in the field of ei­ther in­ter­na­tional trade, eco­nom­ics, fi­nance, law, com­pe­ti­tion law, in­dus­trial or­ga­ni­za­tion, com­pe­ti­tion pol­icy or prac­tice; or (b) at least (10) years ex­pe­ri­ence work­ing in the ad­min­is­tra­tion of com­pe­ti­tion law and pol­icy or in re­lated reg­u­la­tory pol­icy en­vi­ron­ment. Prior ex­pe­ri­ence work­ing in the con­text of re­gional in­te­gra­tion gen­er­ally and the Caribbean Com­mu­nity in par­tic­u­lar will be con­sid­ered rel­e­vant back­ground ex­pe­ri­ence. Com­pe­tence in the use of the com­puter is es­sen­tial.
