Du Boulay’s Bottling Company Ltd. (DBC) this month celebrates its 45th anniversary of operations in Saint Lucia. The company, which was formed by four brothers: Dunstan, Tony, Leslie and Frank Du Boulay, began operations in 1972 with a modest production plant, one truck and twelve members of staff and is now the leading soft drinks manufacturer in Saint Lucia and the OECS.

“We are all elated to be here to celebrate 45 years of successful operations in Saint Lucia,” remarked Dunstan Du Boulay, Director of Du Boulay’s Company Ltd/Windward and Leeward Brewery Ltd. “What seemed as a dream from working in our father’s ice factory has evolved into a formidable business venture of which we are extremely proud. Over the years we have made major contributions to the social, cultural and economic development of Saint Lucia while consistently improving our products, facilities and personnel. We are proud of our legacy and the achievements of the company, and to ensure that we maintain our legacy and sustainability of the business, last year we merged with Windward and Leeward Brewery Ltd. (WLBL) thereby creating the largest total beverage manufacturer in Saint Lucia and the Eastern Caribbean, which has further solidified our position in the regional beverage market.”

Over the years, the company has invested in technological advancements and efficient production equipment and implemented the strictest hygiene and food safety standards to safeguard the quality of beverages produced. Customer needs are high on the priority list and the company has redesigned and introduced new ranges and sizes of modern style packaging and improved its consumer response programme as well as an internal quality monitoring programme.

Sebastian Sanchez, Managing Director of WLBL, stated, “We are happy to be part of this milestone for DBC. 45 years in an ever-evolving industry is no small feat! When our families merged, it was because we shared similar values that have allowed both companies to be in business for over 40 years. We pride ourselves on being good corporate citizens, investing in the development of people, youth, sporting, cultural, community and educational projects as well as the environment. The strides we are taking to ensure the sustainability of both businesses will also lead to the further development of the local beverage industry. Join us on our journey to 45 more years in Saint Lucia.”
