Pawasol Quiz Night Raises $12,000 for Charity

The Star (St. Lucia) - - LOCAL -

Pawasol Pour Ti Mamai, a charity organisation that provides assistance to children with medical and educational needs, held its annual quiz night on Tuesday, February 28 at Razmataz restaurant. The event was hosted by Mrs. Sue Wright and staff of the establishment.

The Pawasol ladies did a fine job of providing the questions and collecting prizes for the raffle and, from all accounts, the full house supporters had a fun night and raised approximately $12,000.

In the ten years since the charity was registered, its members are proud of the fact that they have been able to raise over EC$600,000. Every cent has helped hundreds of children to attend school, by providing schoolbooks, fees, transport, lunches or uniform; or by assisting with medicine, surgical fees or airfares to a required hospital.

Monies are raised through sponsored walks, pop-up shops, calendars and cookbook sales and quiz evenings. Pawasol has expressed thanks to sponsors, and to all who attended Tuesday night’s session, and looks forward to further public support.
