CARILEC Excited For Upcoming Conference
Chief Executive Officers and personnel of Caribbean Electric Utility Services Corporation (CARILEC) will meet in Saint Lucia from May 16–19, 2017.
The Chief Executive Officers and Finance Conference, an annual event, wil this year be hosted at Sandals Grande. CARILEC, along with Saint Lucia Electricity Services Limited (LUCELEC), has themed the conference: “Movement: Utilities, People, Technology and Investment”. Over 150 CEOs and CFOs are expected to attend. All the delegates will be representing utility companies and organizations from the Caribbean, and Central and Latin America.
A press conference panelled by CARILEC’s Executive Director, Dr. Cletus Bertin; Project Manager, Andrew Thorington and Training Manager Sophia Laurena Primus was held on Wednesday this week. Dr. Bertin has only recently been appointed as Executive Director of CARILEC and he and the company look forward to great progress in the near future. The Chief Executive Officers and Finance Conference will be one of the first orders of business for him.
The energy sector, globally, is undoubtedly swaying to climate change adaptation, sustainability and renewable sources. Dr. Bertin believes that the conference will address handling this transformation: “It is timely because it will address, in a fundamental way, a number of key elements for success in the energy landscape, and so CARILEC welcomes full, associate and affiliate members, as well as other interested parties, to this tremendously important forum for knowledge-sharing and networking.”
The panel was excited to announce the activities for the upcoming conference which will include various workshops, networking opportunities, panel discussions and presentations addressing adaptation, sustainable energy, energy efficiency, company training, planning, business, risk analysis and occupational health and safety.
LUCELEC and the Government of Saint Lucia (Labour Department) are involved in the overall execution of this conference. CARILEC was also pleased to inform that the event was scheduled near the time of the Saint Lucia Jazz Festival to enable delegates to attend that, too.
Anyone interested in registering for this conference can find out more information on the website www.carilec.org.
