Com­mis­sion­ers of Po­lice Host Town Hall Meet­ing

The Royal Saint Lu­cia Po­lice Force (RSLPF) hosted a Com­mis­sion­ers’ Town Hall Meet­ing at the Jacmel Com­mu­nity Cen­tre on Wednesday, May 24, 2017.

Ac­cord­ing to a press state­ment, the hi­er­ar­chy of the po­lice used the event as a means of strength­en­ing its com­mu­nity re­la­tions through­out the is­land, hav­ing held sev­eral suc­cess­ful Com­mu­nity Town Hall meet­ings in the past.

Ahead of the event, the Com­mis­sion­ers of Po­lice had in­vited res­i­dents of the com­mu­nity to turn out in large num­bers to dis­cuss crime and com­mu­nity polic­ing con­cerns in open and frank dis­course. It was an­nounced that the Royal Saint Lu­cia Po­lice Band would also be on hand to treat the com­mu­nity to sev­eral of their pop­u­lar mu­si­cal ren­di­tions.

The Town Hall Meet­ing was fol­lowed by a se­ries of planned school vis­its be­gin­ning with the Pier­rot Com­bined School and the Del­cer Com­bined School in the south.

On Wednesday, May 24 Gazetted Of­fi­cers, along with other se­nior mem­bers of the Force, vis­ited the Vide Bouteille Sec­ondary School. The cur­tains came down on the school vis­its at the Marc­hand Com­bined School on May 25.
