On Wed­nes­day September 6th, Global En­trepreneur­ship Week (GEW) part­ners from the south con­vened at the Wind­ward & Lee­ward Brewery for the third in a se­ries of part­ners' meet­ings to plan for a suc­cess­ful cel­e­bra­tion of GEW 2017. In col­lab­o­ra­tion with Ju­nior Achieve­ment St. Lu­cia and the St. Lu­cia Youth busi­ness trust, the Saint Lu­cia Cham­ber of Com­merce, In­dus­try and Agri­cul­ture will host the sixth GEW event from Novem­ber 13-19, 2017 un­der the theme “Cul­ti­vat­ing Young Lead­ers for En­tre­pre­neur­ial Suc­cess".

Part­ners were pro­vided with up­dates on the Cham­ber's bea­con ac­tiv­i­ties and ex­plored how they could con­trib­ute to the week. At­ten­dees also ex­plored is­sues fac­ing young en­trepreneurs as well as small busi­nesses and pos­si­ble mea­sures to curb and tackle th­ese is­sues dur­ing GEW. One area that stood out was the prepa­ra­tion of our youth for the world of work and en­trepreneur­ship.

Mem­bers present in­di­cated a keen in­ter­est in work­ing with youth dur­ing GEW and host­ing ac­tiv­i­ties that would seek to guide them along their jour­ney. Part­ners were en­cour­aged to sub­mit their ideas early in an ef­fort to en­gage the wider cor­po­rate com­mu­nity and fi­nan­cial in­sti­tu­tions in dis­cus­sions fo­cus­ing on part­ner­ships and sup­port.

An in­vi­ta­tion is ex­tended to all agen­cies, young as­pir­ing en­trepreneurs and in­sti­tu­tions from the south with an in­ter­est or a role to play in grow­ing en­trepreneur­ship, to be part of this global cel­e­bra­tion.
