THE GEW SAINT LUCIA SOUTHERN PARTNERS MEETING
On Wednesday September 6th, Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) partners from the south convened at the Windward & Leeward Brewery for the third in a series of partners' meetings to plan for a successful celebration of GEW 2017. In collaboration with Junior Achievement St. Lucia and the St. Lucia Youth business trust, the Saint Lucia Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture will host the sixth GEW event from November 13-19, 2017 under the theme “Cultivating Young Leaders for Entrepreneurial Success".
Partners were provided with updates on the Chamber's beacon activities and explored how they could contribute to the week. Attendees also explored issues facing young entrepreneurs as well as small businesses and possible measures to curb and tackle these issues during GEW. One area that stood out was the preparation of our youth for the world of work and entrepreneurship.
Members present indicated a keen interest in working with youth during GEW and hosting activities that would seek to guide them along their journey. Partners were encouraged to submit their ideas early in an effort to engage the wider corporate community and financial institutions in discussions focusing on partnerships and support.
An invitation is extended to all agencies, young aspiring entrepreneurs and institutions from the south with an interest or a role to play in growing entrepreneurship, to be part of this global celebration. Additional information can be obtained from the Chamber of Commerce.
