KFC Christmas Extravaganza Toy and Food Drive
KFC is once again proud to team up with the Salvation Army and the Ministry of Social Transformation to spread joy this Christmas season. This year will be the fourth annual Toy Drive presented by KFC.
The popularity of the promotion has motivated the organisers to make it a non-perishable food drive, in addition to the original toy drive, which is expected to assist in Dominica relief efforts. For the first two years of this annual promotion, KFC and other participating sponsors hosted a Christmas party for underprivileged people in various communities. At these events, children were treated to snacks, games and toys.
Last year, the organisers decided to make it a more public event, hosting the Christmas party, now called ‘The Christmas Extravaganza’, at the Derek Walcott Square in Castries. Over 250 underprivileged kids are transported from various communities to the fun-filled charity event. There they are presented with gifts from sponsors, all in the Christmas spirit.
The Christmas Extravaganza is free to the general public. Food and drinks will be on sale, and all contributions will be donated to the Salvation Army to raise funds for its various annual programmes. At the event the children will have the opportunity to play games, take pictures with Santa Claus and enjoy live entertainment. This year the Christmas Extravaganza will be held on Saturday, December 16 from 2 pm to 6 pm.
Toys and non-perishable food items can be dropped off until December 11 at the following locations: Salvation Army (Castries), the Rhythm FM Office and the DBS office.
This promotion is presented by KFC, with platinum sponsor Digicel. Other sponsors include Pinehill, S&S, Ferrands Dairy and M&C Drugstore. The drive is hosted by Rhythm 95.5, Blazin 99.3 and DBS.
