SLHTA Ap­pren­tice­ship Pro­gramme — En­rol­ment Now Open!

The SLHTA Hos­pi­tal­ity Ap­pren­tice­ship Pro­gramme for Youth (HAPY) is an ini­tia­tive by the Saint Lu­cia Ho­tel and Tourism As­so­ci­a­tion Inc. which tar­gets un­em­ployed youth be­tween the ages of 18-35 years with a keen in­ter­est in the Hos­pi­tal­ity and Tourism In­dus­try in Saint Lu­cia. The pro­gramme was launched on De­cem­ber 10, 2014 and has en­rolled over 550 youth over the past four years.

This week, the SLHTA met with a new cadre of pas­sion­ate, young per­sons trained un­der the Com­mu­nity, Fam­ily and Youth Re­silience (CFYR) Ba­sic Life and Em­ploy­a­bil­ity Skills (BLES) train­ing ini­tia­tive. The sup­port for the young per­sons trained un­der this USAID-funded project will en­sure over a dozen youth from the Marc­hand com­mu­nity can ac­cess ap­pren­tice­ship op­por­tu­ni­ties at SLHTA mem­ber prop­er­ties. The ap­pren­tice­ship project is funded by the SLHTA Tourism En­hance­ment Fund (TEF).
