Bosun's

A Gastropub with a View

Tropical Traveller Magazine - - RESTAURANTREVIEWS -

Waterfront dining in Saint Lucia is no more charmingly located than at Bosun's, a cosy gastropub with nautical themes and an expansive view of the clicking masts of Rodney Bay Marina's moored yachts.

A longtime favourite of local and visiting sailors, the first floor bar and restaurant has a spacious verandah outside, and a very popular pool table inside, making it a great place for sundowners and a game, followed by dinner and a surprisingly unique menu—Thai!

Not that Bosun's is only a Thai restaurant; for breakfast there’s a great choice including everyone’s favourite local “saltfish, bakes and cocoa tea” or if you’re hankering after a great fry up washed down with piping hot Lavazza coffee, you’re in the right place.

For lunch a hearty menu varies daily, with Lucian staples like stewed chicken and grilled fish with all the tasty sides we love on the island. But in the evening the chef fires up the wok and stirs up authentic Thai food with an experienced hand and a little Lucian flair.

From classic green curry to piquant tamarind mahi mahi, those with a taste for heat and Asian flavours will not be disappointed, and more than likely will consider Bosun’s to be a hidden treasure. Be sure to call ahead and confirm, especially if you’re bringing a larger group – nothing’s too much trouble, but even the chef needs a day off sometimes!

With icy cold beers and a cocktail list to hit the right spot whatever the time, a friendly crowd of locals, yachties and fans of the waterside hot spot and warm, professional, service from owner Pearl and her friendly team, there’s something for everyone at Bosun’s. Head for Rodney Bay Marina and find out why it’s one of the north’s favourite liming spots.

Bosun’s is open from 8am until 11pm every day. Call 458 4190 or email bosuns,bar.bistro@hotmail.com for more information and reservations.
