Lucian Lodgings Two Ways
La Terrasse, reminiscent of a private residence, does double duty as a French restaurant where the pork tenderloin and the crème caramel are to die for. Husband-wife team Claudia and Thomas, Guatemalan and French-Norwegian respectively, welcomed us warmly. Our spacious abode, the largest of four rooms available to tourists, offered touches such as plates, eating utensils and paper towels. The patio brought relaxation - the perfect location for travelers wishing to avoid a busy hotel.
At the Coco Palm Hotel, a large pool occupies the heart of activity, uniting visitors sunning and reading. The open-air bar and full-service restaurant added to our pleasure. The breakfast buffet delivered a hearty eater’s dream with offerings both local and American: fish cakes, fried bakes, plantains, bacon, sausage and omelettes made-torequest in front of a life-sized mural of St. Lucian history.
