What made you choose Saint Lucia?

Just going through all the different resorts, we wanted one that was relaxed and romantic. We're newly-weds so that was important. We finally chose Sandals as it fitted the bill.

Have you "stayed at one, played at three"?

Yes, we're staying at Sandals Grande but we've visited Halcyon for a day and are planning to spend some time at the La Toc resort too. They are all quite distinct.

What tours have you taken?

We loved the Carnival Sailing Wet and Wild tour to Soufriere, and we can't wait to go ziplining at Rainforest Adventures as we've heard it's really exciting.

What is your impression of the island?

The island is so beautiful. We'll definitely come back for an anniversary to St. Lucia and maybe bring some family next time.

Jordi and Hannah From UK

Is this your first time in Saint Lucia?

Yes! Our friend from college is from the island so we came for a month to visit.

How do you like the island?

Oh it is amazing! We have done so many things— snorkelling, diving, hanging out on the beach. We've taken a boatride to Soufriere and swam under a waterfall. We even went horse-riding around the north coast which was fantastic. The scenery is fantastic and we can't get enough of the sunshine!

Have you had any local food?

We've tried all sorts of things like bouillon and pumpkin soup—staying with a Lucian family is the best way to eat like a local! Gros Islet is really great for barbecue and fresh seafood so we've eaten there a lot.

What has been your favourite experience?

We've met so many new friends; the people are lovely and we feel really welcome. Carnival was a real highlight. Our party watched the street parade from a boat anchored by the harbour and had an incredible two days of "jumping up."

What do you think about our island?

I like St Lucia—a LOT … I've been here four times in 27 years. I like that it’s laid back, I like the folks that live there. I particularly like the spectacular raw natural beauty of the place…AND there's a Volcano.

What have you been doing this visit?

Far and away my favourite thing was bare-back horseriding in the sea—everyone was so chilled. Second favourite, and that’s a very close second, would be the Drive-in Volcano at Soufriere. To walk into an active (though ‘resting’ I’ll grant you) volcano…that’s pretty special.

What do you like to east when you're here?

I love the fresh fish and seafood and fresh salads etc. . I really, really like the salty Plantain Chips that are sold locally, cos they are SO tasty (and I can't get them at home!)

Will you come back to Saint Lucia?

I'm sure I will! I am a passionate photographer and photographing the island was on my wishlist, but this was a short visit so I just might have to come back soon!

Visitors to Saint Lucia find pleasure in the simple things, like relaxing at the beach, near the pool or taking in a little shopping. TT caught up with some new islanders who were staying at The Body Holiday.
