Creole with a Captivating View of Castries

Tropical Traveller Magazine - - RECIPES -

Follow the signs from Government House on Morne Fortune to the Pink Plantation House and even if you get a little lost, you will not regret it when you reach this beloved lunch and Sunday brunch spot. The Pink House is definitely much more than just a restaurant, as it is home to the ceramic and silkscreen design company, Wild Orchid Designs, behind its century old roseate walls. Visitors can take a tour of the lovingly-restored plantation house before or after lunch, and a saunter around the exquisite grounds is a must. The huge veranda is a beautiful place to enjoy Creole home-style cooking, as a fantastic vista opens out with views of Castries harbour, as far as Pigeon Island and all the way to Martinique on a clear day. There's a frequently changing menu with seasonal specials, and owner Michelle Elliot makes sure the ingredients are the freshest on island, the food is artistically displayed and off the charts good. Pick up a hand-painted ceramic treasure or a silk-screened memento of your visit, sign the visitors' book and promise yourself you'll return to the Pink Plantation House.
