Hoof Prints Ranch, Roseau Valley

"My husband and I visited Hoofs Print Ranch as an excursion on a cruise ship in early April. I wanted very much to ride a horse in the ocean but I wasn't sure how this would take place, but everything turned out beautifully!

"When you get there they have restrooms and a place to store bags; you then get fitted with a helmet and everyone is given a clear and concise briefing. Horses were selected for us according to our experience and those who had never ridden before were given instructions. The ride out to the ocean was fantastic, you got to see the banana plantation, livestock grazing in the fields and many other tropical scenes.

"When we arrived at a beautiful private beach, one by one, we rode bareback on one of the horses while the guide led us into deep water. The horse did not swim but walked in the water - it was a wonderful experience. The landscape on the trek was beautiful and horses were well-trained and well cared for. The tour guides were all very friendly and watchful of everyone, making sure the group and the horses were comfortable and staying on path."

"Don't get me wrong, these horses know where they are going, but they had a bounce to their step. We rode along the beach, and along an ocean overlook. I was saddle-sore, but it was worth every twinge. I arranged everything in advance from the USA, and Wayne could not have been more helpful. He got a taxi to pick us up and return us after a 2 hour ride.

We saw a wide array of plants—trees of bay leaves, cashews, banana plants, tamarind. Wayne educated us on the history of the land and the vegetation. We did a morning ride, and it was perfect. Another couple with us ranked it as their best experience in 25 years!"

Ricky, USA

"Humbly constructed stable, but very well cared for horses. You can tell Wayne and Max LOVE the horses. After trail-riding in the hill country among the banana groves, we arrived to expansive grass land bluffs overlooking the Atlantic and an ABSOLUTELY STUNNING panoramic view. A herd of Atlantic's horses grazing on the grassy bluff overlooking the crashing waves. Two foals! Beautiful, beautiful. Down to the beach for a gallop back and forth. Splashing into the crashing waves.

Exhilarating!"
