Kids and water activities are the perfect formula for making a family holiday in Saint Lucia – or anywhere else – a huge success. Last year, Saint Lucia welcomed the arrival of Splash Island and immediately the bright green and yellow inflatable water park became a hit with local and visiting kids alike. In fact, many an adult can be seen, standing on the beach and looking wistfully at the fun! Described as “the Caribbean's Wettest & Wildest Attraction,” Splash Island is located on the northwest coast of Saint Lucia, on the popular Reduit Beach. Opened in August 2015, Splash Island is located at the multi-award-winning Bay Gardens Beach Resort & Spa. Manufactured by Wibit Sports GmBH, a German watersports company who has been producing commercial grade inflatable water sports products for over 18 years, Splash Island is the first in the Eastern Caribbean. Kids, families and weekend warriors alike are already big fans of the water park's obstaclecourse style features. The park has been designed and set up in compliance with the strictest European safety requirements (EN 15649) and testing related to materials and performance. Splash Island is staffed by a team of certified lifeguards, and all patrons (who must be 6 years of age and older) are required to wear life vests irrespective of their swimming ability. Once safely ensconced in Splash Island’s bright blue life vests, it’s a stampede into the calm, shallow sea and onto the trampoline, climbing wall or monkey bars. There’s a swing, a slide, hurdles, a double rocker, flip and water volleyball court, with plenty of space for maximising the fun and keeping the kids entertained. You can play for an hour, or take a half- or full-day pass to really enjoy the experience, and there are great packages which include lunch at the Sea Grapes Restaurant, right on the beach with a view over the splashy proceedings. When Tropical Traveller visited Splash Island Water Park, we met a group of kids who had travelled to Saint Lucia with the Atlantic Rally for Cruisers (ARC), and were being generously hosted by Splash Island. The looks on their faces told the whole story as they played hard for almost two hours and from the littlest seven year olds to the almost-grown-up teenagers, the feedback was unanimous: Splash Island Waterpark is fantastic! Cap Maison and St. James Club Morgan Bay. Guests of Bay Gardens Beach Resort, Bay Gardens Hotel or Bay Gardens Inn enjoy FREE ACCESS to Splash Island Water Park St. Lucia with 6 free one hour passes included in every booking. Special pricing applies to residents and you can even have your birthday party at the park. Please click here or contact us at info@stluciawaterpark.com for details.
