Casio G-Shock celebrates 35th anniversary in NYC
Casio G-Shock recently kicked off its yearlong 35th anniversary celebration with a milestone event in New York City, attended by G-Shock executives and friends to honor the brand’s legacy and share exciting future plans.
Celebrities, actors and influencers such as Grammy-winning recording artist T-Pain, grime artist Skepta, designer Nicole Miller, model and son of P. Diddy, Christian Combs, tattoo artist Jon Boy, and G-Shock athlete and Olympian Louie Vito attended the event.
Those in attendance from Saudi Arabia included, top executives of Mahmood Saleh Abbar Company, the authorized agent of Casio products in Saudi Arabia, rapper Qusai Kheder, YouTube star Khalid Aseeri, singer Hamza Hawsawi, and producer and entertainment consultant Anwar Idris.
“Casio’s shock-resistant G-Shock watch is synonymous with toughness, born from developer Ibe’s dream of creating a watch that never breaks,” a press release said.
Over 200 handmade samples were created and tested to destruction until finally in 1983 the first, now iconic G-Shock hit the streets of Japan and began to establish itself as “the toughest watch of all time.”
“The watch is packed with Casio innovations and technologies to prevent it from suffering direct shock; this includes internal components protected with urethane and suspended timekeeping modules inside the watch structure. Since its launch, G-Shock has continued to evolve in line with Ibe’s mantra to ‘never, never give up.’”
Rapper Qusai Kheder, YouTube star Khalid Aseeri and singer Hamza Hawsawi attended the event.
