Fahd bin Mo­hammed Al-Shebel has been CEO of the Na­tional Uni­fied Pro­cure­ment Co. (NUPCO) since Oc­to­ber 2017. NUPCO is a lead­ing com­pany in Saudi Ara­bia in pro­cure­ment, lo­gis­tics and sup­ply chain man­age­ment for phar­ma­ceu­ti­cal and med­i­cal de­vices, and sup­plies for gov­ern­ment hos­pi­tals.

It was es­tab­lished in 2009 with SR1.5 bil­lion ($400 mil­lion) as cap­i­tal, and is fully owned by the Public In­vest­ment Fund.

NUPCO re­cently opened a fully au­to­mated ware­house in King Ab­dul­lah Eco­nomic City, with an area cov­er­ing 300,000 square me­ters, to pro­vide com­pre­hen­sive dis­tri­bu­tion and stor­age for the state health sec­tor.

It comes as part of the com­pany’s ef­forts to sup­port the health sec­tor and pro­vide smart sup­ply chains and high-qual­ity lo­gis­ti­cal ser­vices. Al-Shebel said the ware­house rep­re­sents the strate­gic part­ner­ship be­tween NUPCO and pri­vate sec­tor com­pa­nies for public health fa­cil­i­ties. The ware­house will pro­vide ad­vanced med­i­cal ser­vices and con­trib­ute to public health. From 2006 to 2017, Al-Shebel served in sev­eral po­si­tions at in­for­ma­tion se­cu­rity com­pany Elm, which of­fers a wide range of ready-made and cus­tom­ized dig­i­tal so­lu­tions in many ar­eas. He started work at Elm as deputy man­ager for busi­ness devel­op­ment be­tween 2006 and 2008, prod­ucts and busi­ness devel­op­ment man­ager be­tween 2008 and 2009, and gov­ern­ment so­lu­tions man­ager be­tween 2009 and 2012. His last post at Elm was ex­ec­u­tive man­ager be­tween

2012 and 2017.

Al-Shebel worked for al­most 10 years at the Public Pen­sion Agency as an IT man­ager. He grad­u­ated from King Saud Univer­sity in Riyadh in 1996.
