An American fifth grader has won this year’s Doodle for Google contest with her drawing about friendship.
Sharon Sara, from Texas, answered the competition’s prompt of “I show kindness by …” with an illustration showing six girls holding hands and smiling.
Google showcased her “Together as One” design on its homepage, and the youngster will also receive a college scholarship and technology equipment for her school for winning the annual contest.
In a statement, Sara said: “I show kindness by sticking together with my friends in tough times. I drew people coming together and not thinking about the outside but being together because of their personality.” Congratulating Sara, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott said: “Sharon’s artwork reminds us of the importance of unity and kindness toward others, especially during these challenging times.”
