One of Swiss watchmaking’s remaining “Manufactures” – that is, watch companies with the capacity to make their timepieces entirely inhouse – Jaeger-LeCoultre is also one of the industry’s most inventive. In its 180 years, the brand has garnered over 400 patents and made over 1,200 in-house movements.
Its trio of commemorative anniversary timepieces, christened the Jubilee Collection, seeks to express the company’s crafts and ethos with a combination of technical and decorative finesse.
Limited to 75 pieces, the Master Grande Tradition Gyrotourbillon 3 Jubilee brims with inventive features, anchored by the famed gyrotourbillon – a double-axis tourbillon with a spherical balance wheel and cage – at the bottom of the dial. Equally complex, the 180-piece limited-edition Master Grande Tradition Tourbillon Cylindrique a Quantieme Perpetuel Jubilee features a spherical flying tourbillon and a perpetual calendar on a new in-house movement. The Master Ultra Thin Jubilee rounds up, housing the world’s thinnest hand-wound movement measuring just 1.85mm thin.
