FLIGHT OF FANCY LAURENT FERRIER – GALET TRAVELLER
This is a noble and practical beauty from Laurent Ferrier, the 67-year-old watchmaker who previously plied his trade with Patek Philippe before starting his eponymous brand in 2009. As handsome as it is easy to use, the Galet Traveller shows the second time zone at nine o’clock, while the date is at three o’clock. Two pushers at the side of the case can set the second time zone forward or backwards in one-hour steps. The timepiece’s pared-down design and effortless functionality, however, belies its arduous construction. It is powered by Ferrier’s signature automatic movement with a micro rotor, which generates a power reserve of up to 80 hours, and is chronometer-certified by the Besancon Observatory.
