The very first Opus collection was created by Francois-Paul Journe, a watchmaker strongly rooted in the classical style of horology. Journe created three watches for Opus One. The first features a movement with two independent balances, which beat in sync with each other for greater precision. The second is a tourbillon with a constant-force escapement, while the third is a wrist chronometer that could maintain its chronometric precision even after five days of inactivity. Six pieces of each model were produced.
