WHO THEY ARE Founded in 1874 in La Cote-aux-Fees, Switzer­land, by Ge­orges Edouard Pi­aget, who de­vel­oped and pro­duced watch move­ments for other com­pa­nies. In 1943, Pi­aget started pro­duc­ing its own watches, and un­veiled its first be­jew­elled watch col­lec­tion in the 1960s. CLAIM TO FAME Its Cal­i­bre 12P, de­vel­oped in 1960, an ul­tra-thin move­ment at 2.3mm, was listed in the Guin­ness Book of World Records as the thinnest self­wind­ing move­ment in the world at the time.
