Sometimes, beauty lies in the simplest of concepts. However, Boucheron’s signature Quatre ring collection is a great example of beauty being more than the sum of its parts. Each Quatre ring is crafted using four separate gold bands – sculpted individually, then assembledssembled without any welding.

It is a skilful process made easier thanks to the fi ne jeweller’s age- old techniques and expertise. Boucheron ron was, after all, the fi rst jeweller of the famous Place Vendome in Paris, where its maison opened in 1858. 8.

Created in 2004, the Quatre ring is still highly sought after, thanks to the exquisite combination of four bands in white, yellow, rose and Boucheron “chocolate” gold. The ring is a story in itself, inspired by the architecture and beauty of the ccity of Paris. Yet, each of the bands tells its own tale.

The ribbed “gadroon” motif, created by Frederic Boucheron in 1889,1889 is one of the brand’s most enduring engraved designs. Its juxtapositionjux of shiny bands placed side by side also shows off theth art of the jeweller’s polishing technique. Like the City of Lights, the diamond-pave band dazzles, thanks to the selection of only the best stones and the skill of Boucheron’s diamond-setters.

Modern and graphic, the band sporting the iconic Clous de Paris motif is a refi ned nod to the cobblestones of Paris and the Place Vendome. Boucheron’s engravers use a precise technique to carve each facet of the motif.

Adding the final touch is the fourth band, which usesses the grosgrain motif. The chiselled gold is said to evoke the city’s manyny bridges.

Today, the Quatre ring collection comes in differentent editions, including the Classique in white, yellow, rose and chocolate gold. The Follies range is made up of two bands, insteadad of four. The White Edition, launched in 2011, uses the same ame white, yellow and pink bands as the Classique, but substitutes the brown gold in the Clous de Paris s band for white ceramic.

The Black edition, which was created last year, has become a bestseller, with its white gold and Boucheron black gold.
