ICON: JOSEPHINE TIARA RING
Chaumet founder Marie-Etienne Nitot made his mark as a personal jeweller to French royalty, so it seems fitting that the House of Chaumet has launched an exquisite jewellery collection inspired by Nitot’s first muse and client: The Empress Josephine de Beauharnais, first wife of French emperor Napoleon Bonaparte.
It was for Josephine that Chaumet designed many stunning bejewelled headpieces. Therefore, to mark its 230th anniversary, Chaumet has dedicated its new jewellery collection to the progressive and free-spirited queen.
Comprising 30 pieces of exquisite jewellery, including necklaces, earrings and bracelets, the collection’s centrepiece is none other than the Josephine Tiara Ring, which is intricately designed to look like a diadem – Josephine’s favourite style of crown. Beautifully executed in three variations of gold – white, yellow and rose – and embellished with a shower of diamonds and precious pear- cut rubellite or green tourmaline, the ring imbues an air of nobility and a dash of je ne sais quoi to anyone whose fi nger it adorns.
