DARREN HO’s obsession with watches has some unfortunate side effects, such as the occasional drooling when he sees an haute horlogerie piece. In this issue, the managing editor of August Man writes about the relationship between watch brands and the silver screen (page 64). His goal is to eventually set up a company that researches new materials and occupy a small part of this niche market. Probably in the next three decades or so.

A freelance journalist and editorial consultant who has lived on three different continents, Y-JEAN MUN-DELSALLE has come face to face with emerging and established artists, designers and craftsmen, and the movers and shakers of the world today. She finds joy and solace in writing and contributes regularly to regional and international titles, shining a spotlight in particular on art, architecture, design, horology and jewellery. In this issue, she lists the 10 most expensive complicated timepieces on the market (page 60).

ELIZABETH DOERR has been a regular in the world of watch publishing since 1991 and is the editor-in-chief of horological platform QuillandPad.com. A regular contributor to Forbes.com, she published her first book on independent watchmaking in 2010, titled 12 Faces of Time. She lends her expertise to Adore with a feature on the different types of certifications used by watchmakers (page 54).

When SEAN MOSSADEG isn’t busy chasing his dreams of being a Sith Lord and practising yoga with Yoda, he writes for August Man and its timepiece supplement MVMT. Fascinated by watches from a young age, his love for all things horological is only surpassed by his obsession with cats — especially fluffy ones. He gets caught up in the world of smartwatches in this edition (page 38).
