THE SMBC SINGAPORE OPEN

-

Sentosa Golf Club played host to the SMBC Singapore Open once again this January, with golfers from all over the world pitting their skills on the green against one another. Among the billings were Thailand’s Prayad Marksaeng, Australia’s Adam Scott,

Korea’s Younghan Song (who was defending champion), and South Africa’s Jbe’ Kruger. It was a grueling competition lasting four rounds from

19 to 22 January, in weather that was anything but kind. Almost three and a half hours of play were lost on the third day of the tournament due to thunderstorms. In the end it was Prayad Marksaeng who emerged victorious and lifted the 10th Asian tour title of his career, just eight days shy of his 51st birthday, a perfect cherry on the cake.
