Pop culture loves looking into the next frontier, and so does fashion. From The

Jetsons to the new Star Wars movies, we’re obsessed with space. Perhaps because of its foreignness, we’re able to project whatever vision we have for an intergalactic future onto a blank space (pun intended). And with new ecosystems come a whole new way of living and, yes, dressing. Think shiny space blanket-inspired dresses, minimalistic cuts and protective gear fashioned into clothes that might not seem strange light years from now. While life on Mars seems possible in the near future (NASA predicts we’ll land there by 2030), for now, we’ll settle with 2017’s interpretation of futuristic wear.
