Tell us more about your job.
I am a full stack software architect
– I specialise in micro-processor and middleware (a software that connect all the software together). During the course of my 22-year career, I have held senior management positions in multi-national companies including Oracle, IBM, and CA, where I drove a large part of the core security software business and established new business units. I am also the digital economy advisor of the National Research Foundation Singapore’s technology board. There, I spearhead the manpower development.
How do you achieve work-life balance? I try not to bring work home. About five years ago, I started doing marathons and since then I have been doing at least two marathons (Sundown and Standard Chartered) a year. Running regularly helps keep my stress level down. Whenever I have the time, I will join the Singapore Shufflers for their Monday and Wednesday Interval Training at Evans Road and Kallang Practice Track. During the weekends, I will join the 5km Parkrun at East Coast Park.
