began by making pens, and later, leather accessories. It was only in this new millennium that they decided to enter the lucrative watchmaking arena. Their first foray into high-end watches was their Nicolas Rieussec collection of chronographs, named after the father of the complication. It was not until a few years ago that they moved the game forward and started taking watchmaking seriously by making full use of their great facilities in Villeret. Last year, Montblanc introduced the Heritage range of more technically advanced timepieces. They have dedicated the 2015 collection to the Age of Exploration and 15th century Portuguese explorer, Vasco da Gama.
