Prada’s latest capsule collection revives an iconic bag charm.

Prada’s robot.

To claim that Mrs Prada built her empire on the back of her iconic nylon rucksack would be an overgeneralisation of the impact that she has had on the fashion industry as a whole. An intellectual perspective, notoriously high standards and a healthy dose of irreverence are all hallmarks of the house of Prada.

Channelling those elements into her latest capsule collection, Mrs Prada has overhauled one of the house’s iconic bag charms—known as “tricks”—The Robot. Made from signature Saffiano leather, it has been given a fresh lick of paint, as well as the addition of hardware like a functional zip placed strategically over its mouth. The Robot appears in a selection of accessories such as wallets, iPhone cases, keychains as well as a tote bag.

But our favourite item from the collection is the nylon rucksack, featuring Velcro surfaces that allow you to trick it out (see what we did there) as you see fit with a range of different robot patches. Go on; have some fun. Who says fashion needs to be so serious?
