Why your feet should be hairy like a Hobbit’s this winter.
For fur sake.
In 2015, kangaroo-fur-lined, backless versions of Gucci’s snaffle loafers debuted in a runway collection by Creative Director Alessandro Michele. The fashion crowd went wild for them and the rest is history. Though fur-lined footwear has been worn as far back as at least 500BC (sheepskin boots were found on a mummy unearthed in China), for Fall/Winter’17 it’s as much about having fur, shearling, fluff or pelt detailing on the outside of your shoes as it is having it on the inside.
