Buy, buy, buy!

We’ve written about their drinks before—the Cecil Beaton is currently our favourite of the lot—but we’re back again to talk about the food. The lightly spiced popcorn and nuts are addictive poppers, but for something more substantial, there’s the corndogs (SGD16++). Not the usual stuff you find at a fairground food stand, you’ll bite into spiced Kiwi lamb (as in New Zealand, not the fruit) wrapped in a corndog shell. Even the ketchup’s been upgraded to a house-made tomato sauce that’ll win over the most ardent chilli-sauceonly dippers. We also like what we consider as atas popiah: smoky beef puffs (SGD18++) served with pickled mustard seeds that give each mouthful a shot of zing. But for dinner, you’ve got to try the white Peking duck (SGD38++). This succulent French duck waddled over to its bed of lentils and ricotta to give us one of the best anatine experiences that has ever graced our belly. Vegetarians, they’ve got you covered too, with the trofie pasta (SGD40++), all handmade and rolling with chanterelle mushrooms and black winter truffle in a mess of butter and sage. Divine.
