The good ol’ boys from Park Bench Deli (PBD) have gone and done up a café. They’ve set up shop a little ways from their original stoop, on the ground floor of The Working Capitol, and called it 1KS. Don’t expect an all-sandwich menu like PBD; instead, you’ll find café fare like the Acai Bowl filled with organic superfood, granola, mixed berries, dried figs and cocoa nibs. We enjoyed the Peanut Butter Toast, which is its namesake spread and sliced bananas, drizzled with honey and dusted with golden flax seed, all on a pain de mie. Coffee is always a good option and you can’t get any better than at 1KS with roasts from Gentlemen’s Coffee Company and Papa Palheta. If caffeine is not your deal, go for the smoothies. We recommend Mary Jane, a mix of spinach, cucumber, green apple and kale. Despite being at a co-working space, the vibe at 1KS is hella chill, even for work lunches and meetings.

1KS is located at 1 Keong Saik Road. It’s open on weekdays from 8am to 9pm and weekends from 9am to 6pm.
