Oh, the horror!
Returning for its seventh year, the Universal Studios Singapore’s Halloween Horror Nights turns today’s contemporary fears into a month-long spectacle of horror.
Cruelty, Deception, Malice, Manipulation, Narcissism, Perversion and Obsession are the seven new incarnations of the famed cardinal sins interpreted for today’s times. And you will get to experience its manifestation in the annual scarefest at the Universal Studios Singapore’s Halloween Horror Nights 7.
With five haunted houses, two scare zones and two new live shows spread across the sprawling theme park, this year’s edition promises to be a test of nerves and wit in all sense of the word.
This year’s edition features original scares and storylines that will cater to local and international fans. Headlining the haunted houses is the Death Mall where Singapore’s most malicious ghosts roam after the building suffered a structural failure. Interested to find out what goes on inside the mind of a deeply depraved force of evil? There’s a place for that too.
Audiences can also expect more scares and chills at two all-new shows: the Laboratorium and the Slice of Life Tour. As its name suggests, the former is filled with mad doctors and superhumans while the latter is an album launch performance by newest pop trio Slit Face Girls that turns into a bloody affair.
Mr Jason Horkin, Senior Vice President of Attractions at Resorts World Sentosa, said: “This year’s theme is among the most disturbing ones, drawing upon seven new incarnations of deadly sins to reflect the zeitgeist of today’s society where people are preoccupied with individualism, beauty and power.”
Winning “Best Leisure Event” for the third year running in the 2017 Singapore Tourism Awards, this year’s edition also includes the Zombie Laser Tag experience (supported by the Singapore Tourism Board).
The interactive nightmare will see teams of four working together to “bring the rain” with laser tag gear on those deranged zombies. The live-action zombie experience incorporates brainwave technology to create an experience like no other. Select participants will wear headbands that sense concentration levels to help unlock clues in their quest.
The things we’d do for a little jolt out of reality. Here, you can have it your way every other bloody weekend.
