New Weekend BRUNCH

Expat Living (Singapore) - - Wine & Dine -

Look out, Singapore – there’s a new boozy brunch spot in town! Located right on the water at Customs House (#01-05, 70 Collyer Quay), The Jigger & Pony Group’s recently opened Caffe Fernet not only offers great Marina Bay views but also a solid menu of modern Italian offerings. We love the fact that the Saturday and Sunday brunch menu, which includes many of the restaurant’s dinnertime dishes, is served à la carte, with an option of free-flow strawberry or watermelon frosé (a refreshing rosé wine slushy) and Aperol spritz for $55.

Highlights include house-made ricotta and jam toast ($15), avocado toast with chilli flakes, radish and mint ($15), hamachi crudo (raw yellowtail) atop roasted eggplant, black olive tapenade and Calabrian chilli ($25), and mafaldine “cacio e pepe” ($25) – a four-peppercorn pasta with pecorino. Other must-tries include a giant chicken Parmigiana sandwich ($22) with smoked scarmorza cheese, basil and Parmigiano- Reggiano, and caramelised cauliflower with hazelnuts and brown butter ($9). Finish things off with the olive oil cake ($14) – baked with orange, pine nuts and rosemary, and served with a side of mascarpone cheese and olive oil – and one of the best espresso martinis ($22) we’ve ever tasted. The portions are large – even the “small plates”, so come with a group! 9178 1105 | caffefer
