The beauty look immortalised by Kim Gordon is one cool, easy-to-do statement.

Aka Kim Gordon’s signature beauty look since the ’90s (and remains so): black liner rimmed heavily all around the peepers. Unlike some other grunge icons of the time, the Sonic Youth frontwoman has always pulled it off without looking like a mess; the effect severe yet slick. On a clean face, it’s a cool, easy-to-do statement (just use a smudge-proof kohl or pencil liner on the lash and waterline) – cue Coach and Chloe, which recreated it for their gothic-tinged F/W ’18 shows. It’s also – as proven by the 65-year-old Gordon, whose experimental guitar duo Body/Head drops its second album this month – ageless and timeless.
