Amer­i­can pol­i­tics (or more specif­i­cally, one world leader) may di­vide the world, but Amer­i­can de­sign is some­thing that’s def­i­nitely more agree­able. Defin­ing the lat­ter, ac­cord­ing to Tif­fany & Co.’s chief artis­tic of­fi­cer Reed Krakoff, is a “very ca­sual and offhanded” qual­ity – one that sums up his highly an­tic­i­pated de­but col­lec­tion for the Amer­i­can jew­eller. Its whim­si­cal name ex­plains its fem­i­nine­meets-in­dus­trial aes­thetic: bracelets, ear­rings, neck­laces and rings made up of ab­stract petal-like die-cuts, held to­gether by pins and all crafted from plat­inum. Span­ning over 40 pieces, it’s not just the brand’s most im­por­tant fine jew­ellery line since 2009, but also the first to in­clude high-end pieces (how demo­cratic). And even though more lav­ish de­signs fea­ture stones like yel­low di­a­monds and tan­zan­ites, their clean lines and sub­tle de­tails – think a fire­fly mo­tif hid­den amid the petals – make them fun and wear­able 24/7.
