Fe­bru­ary 25th - Citibank’s Chal­lenge the Chef cam­paign held re­cently at Le Meri­dien Kuala Lumpur has un­veiled 3 unique fu­sion cui­sine ideas by the lo­cals.

The cre­ative food chal­lenge which first be­gan in De­cem­ber 2015 drew over 400 food ideas in a spate of 6 weeks and were sub­mit­ted to Ex­ec­u­tive Chef, An­toine Ro­driguez from Le Meri­dien Kuala Lumpur to cre­ate.

The chef com­mented that the ideas were truly rep­re­sen­ta­tive of Malaysia’s di­verse food cul­ture.

“The ideas that came through were very cre­ative and they rep­re­sent Malaysia’s melt­ing pot of cul­tures. I en­joyed the process of trans­form­ing these ideas into sim­ple recipes that any­one could make at home,” he said.

The ideas were sub­mit­ted via Face­book users to Citibanks’s face­book page which saw its fan base in­crease by some 22,000 likes dur­ing the cam­paign pe­riod.

The win­ning com­bi­na­tions were Durian Roti Canai, Roti Jala Surf & Turf and Sa­tay in Scotch Egg.

XLumpur. Present were the win­ners Noor Zha­farini Noorizan for her idea of Roti Jala and Le Meri­dien’s PRIME Surf & Turf, Lim Wui Zhuan for the Durian and Roti Canai com­bi­na­tion and Muham­mad Fal­i­hin Jasmi for the Sa­tay in Scotch Egg idea.

The win­ners were treated to a 3 day stay at Le Meri­dien Kuala Lumpur with ac­cess to the newly ren­o­vated Le Meri­dien Club Lounge for 2 per­sons worth RM2,320.

The 3 brand new dishes will be avail­able at Le Meri­dien’s Gas­tro Sen­tral which has now been in­cluded in their menu. Citibank credit card hold­ers may savour all three dishes for the spe­cial price of RM138. The dishes will be avail­able from March 1st to April 30th 2016.
