February 25th - Citibank’s Challenge the Chef campaign held recently at Le Meridien Kuala Lumpur has unveiled 3 unique fusion cuisine ideas by the locals.
The creative food challenge which first began in December 2015 drew over 400 food ideas in a spate of 6 weeks and were submitted to Executive Chef, Antoine Rodriguez from Le Meridien Kuala Lumpur to create.
The chef commented that the ideas were truly representative of Malaysia’s diverse food culture.
“The ideas that came through were very creative and they represent Malaysia’s melting pot of cultures. I enjoyed the process of transforming these ideas into simple recipes that anyone could make at home,” he said.
The ideas were submitted via Facebook users to Citibanks’s facebook page which saw its fan base increase by some 22,000 likes during the campaign period.
The winning combinations were Durian Roti Canai, Roti Jala Surf & Turf and Satay in Scotch Egg.
Citibank and Starwood Hotel and Resorts hosted a presentation and prize-giving luncheon at Le Meridien Kuala
XLumpur. Present were the winners Noor Zhafarini Noorizan for her idea of Roti Jala and Le Meridien’s PRIME Surf & Turf, Lim Wui Zhuan for the Durian and Roti Canai combination and Muhammad Falihin Jasmi for the Satay in Scotch Egg idea.
The winners were treated to a 3 day stay at Le Meridien Kuala Lumpur with access to the newly renovated Le Meridien Club Lounge for 2 persons worth RM2,320.
The 3 brand new dishes will be available at Le Meridien’s Gastro Sentral which has now been included in their menu. Citibank credit card holders may savour all three dishes for the special price of RM138. The dishes will be available from March 1st to April 30th 2016.
