Manhattan Bar

Food and Travel (Singapore) - - Drink -

Manhattan Bar brings new flavours to the table by doing away with lofty Soho for livelier soulful Harlem. The district, north of New York’s Manhattan borough, known for its African-American influence in culture and the arts, soul food, and Southern comforts, is the inspiration for Manhattan’s new menu. It boasts five classic craft cocktails with a twist and four gourmet bar bites, all of which allude to an iconic person, place, or moment significant to the Harlem district.

The Gin & Juice (S$24) is a cocktail of gin, pink grapefruit juice, maraschino, sea salt, egg white, and Champagne, and a tribute to Snoop Dogg’s “Gin and Juice” single, while the Barber Shop (S$23), a mix of Bowmore 12Y scotch, raspberry liqueur, hibiscus syrup, lime juice, cucumber, mint leaves and ginger beer, with its red and white barber pole straw, speaks of the fostered relationships within the community that was established through the many beauty salons and barber shops. Also, on the new menu are, Lenox (S$23), Red Rooster (S$24), and Globetrotter (S$22) – an allusion to the basketball team Harlem Globetrotters, complete with a side of pretzels.

Have some bar bites to go with your drink with dishes like Southern Cornbread (S$10) served with warm maple pecan butter and Pimento cheese, Fried Green tomatoes (S$16), Banana Cream Cookies (S$12), and the quintessential dish of the Harlem District, Chicken & Waffle (S$18) spiced up with house-made hot sauce.
