The world’s first 24-hour Hello Kitty themed café has finally landed on our shores. Opened in May this year at Changi Airport Terminal 3, the café offers an extensive menu of delectable food and beverages served in a whimsical floral paradise setting.

For those who have visited other Hello Kitty cafes around the world, they’ll know that every Hello Kitty cafe features a different theme, and the one in Singapore – Hello Kitty Orchid Garden – has been specially designed to emulate the country’s ‘garden city’ vibe, fusing inspiration from the national flower – the orchid – with the beloved character’s signature kawaii flair for a uniquely Singaporean aesthetic.

Apart from making the café look outstanding with a gorgeous colour palette of purple, green and white with wood accents, as well as with wrought iron swing seats and 3D life-sized figures of Hello Kitty in specially designated photo spots, much attention has also been paid to the food. Featuring local and Asian influences, the menu comprises a good selection of all-day breakfast delights, hearty mains, sharing dishes, and an irresistible array of kitty-fied desserts. Some of the highlights here include the Hola Nachos! (S$15.90) consisting flaky fried tortilla chips jazzed up with shaved parmesan, jalapenos, olives, onions, tomato salsa and lashings of a luscious cheddar cheese sauce, as well as the Enchanted Forest (S$17.90) comprising succulent prawns, avocado, gooey cheddar, caramelised onions and wasabi sesame mayonnaise sandwiched between the folds of a toasted tortilla shell. For desserts, diners can expect to be spoilt for choice with a daily selection of sliced cakes and tarts, soft serve frozen yoghurt, and eight flavours of gelato.

Before you leave, you can also take home a memento from the retail corner, where Singapore-exclusive merchandise will be launched seasonally. Some of the items on offer include a range of custom Hello Kitty-inspired tea blends, plush toys fashioned to resemble the Hello Kitty Singapore mascot, grow-it-yourself plants kits, and postcards.
