Fans of traditional baked mooncakes definitely have to check out Old Seng Choong's inaugural mooncake line-up this year. Featuring seven different types of baked mooncakes – possibly one of the largest ensemble of baked mooncakes in the market today – customers can look forward to a good mix of traditional and modern creations such red bean orange peel with yolk blend and pine nuts mooncake (S$58 for a box of four), custard egg yolk blend mooncake (S$62 for a box of four), wu ren mooncake (S$68 for a box of four), and more. Our favourites from the online bakery's offerings include the custard egg yolk blend and white lotus paste with four yolks (S$68 for a box of four). The former, which comprises a sweet and smooth egg custard complemented by a layer of salted egg yolk paste in the middle, offers a delightful sweet and salty flavour, while the latter, which consists of four whole salted egg yolks, is perfect for those seeking the ultimate indulgence. Old Seng Choong mooncakes are available for order online till 15 September, and they can be collected from 15 August onwards.
