Most com­monly used in ba­bies' di­ets to ease them into the tran­si­tion from a milk-only diet to solid food, baby oat flakes, which have high nu­tri­tional value, are thinly cut oats with a fine tex­ture. Oats are con­sid­ered to be gluten-free, which means that they are one of the least al­ler­genic grains, mak­ing them a safe first food for ba­bies. Baby oats can be found in se­lected su­per­mar­kets, or you can make your own by grind­ing whole rolled oats in a cof­fee grinder.
