Of­fer­ing a retro-chic gas­tro-pub ex­pe­ri­ence to din­ers is Les Amis Group's new­est es­tab­lish­ment – Jin­za­kaya. Housed next to the group's sis­ter con­cept Sushi Jin – a lux­u­ri­ous Ja­panese fine din­ing restau­rant – Jin­za­kaya aims to bring din­ers back to the old Ja­panese tav­erns, while tak­ing the tra­di­tional iza­kaya to an­other level with an am­bi­ence that ex­udes fun. With af­ford­able set lunches, shar­ing plates and a se­lec­tion of yaki­mono avail­able, din­ers can en­joy tan­ta­lis­ing Ja­panese meals in an edgy retro en­clave. Choose from four lunch menus that fea­ture rice, noo­dles, sand­wiches and sal­ads. The sig­na­ture JIN Tori Ra­men is a flavour­ful white chicken broth with char­grilled chicken and onsen egg. Ja­panese curry fans can tuck into the crispy pork belly katsu with spe­cial house-made curry, while those look­ing for a sim­pler meal can try the JIN Sake Harashu, a serv­ing a fresh greens, slices of salmon belly and home­made ponzu dress­ing. Each meal, priced at S$12.80, comes with a choice of hot or cold ho­jicha. On to din­ner, yaki­mono takes the stage with 19 de­li­cious grilled skew­ers and 10 mains. From Tori Momo (chicken thigh) and Te­basaki (mid wing chicken joint) to foie gras (S$9.50) and MBS 4 Wagyu Kushi (S$9), there is some­thing for ev­ery palate here. On the mains are the pop­u­lar Ku­rama Ebi Ba­con (S$20), a mouth-wa­ter­ing king prawn wrapped in ba­con, and the MBS 8 Aus­tralian Wagyu 100g (S$60), char­grilled to medium-rare. For a lighter fare, a va­ri­ety of chinmi, sashimi and sal­ads are sure to sat­isfy. A se­lec­tion of beer, shochu and sweet to dry sakes, in­clud­ing niche brands and brews, would com­ple­ment the meal.
